A long time player, Dana got into coaching while living in Lovelock and coaching the Pershing County High School team. Since moving to the Douglas area Dana has also coached at Carson Tahoe Volleyball Club before coming to Capital City. He is also the coach at Sierra Luthern High School.

He and wife Inger continue to play in leagues and tournaments.
